Dinesh Phadnis, well-known for his role as Inspector Fredericks in the Indian television series “C.I.D.,” has passed away due to multiple organ failure.
CID actor Dinesh Phadnis, 57, who portrayed the character for two decades, succumbed to the ailment on Tuesday night, as confirmed by his co-actor, Dayanand Shetty.
Phadnis had been undergoing treatment for liver issues at Tunga Hospital in Malad, Mumbai. He was rushed to the hospital over the weekend and has been on ventilator support for the past two days. Unfortunately, the actor faced complications after medication for another ailment adversely affected his liver.
Dayanand Shetty conveyed the sad news, stating that Dinesh Phadnis breathed his last at 12:08 a.m. The actor’s last rites are scheduled to take place at the Daulat Nagar Crematorium in Borivali East.
The medical complications arose when Phadnis was being treated for a different health issue, and the prescribed medication had a detrimental impact on his liver. Despite efforts to address the complications, he was removed from ventilator support on the night of his passing.
