Indian film icon Mithun Chakraborty faced a health hindrance, notable for his admission to Kolkata’s Apollo Hospital on February 10.
Mithun Chakraborty son, Mimoh, worried the public by stating that the admission was for a repetitive check-up and that Mithun was in good health, being 100% fine. The hospital’s official statement drew attention to Mithun’s condition, citing weakness in his right upper and lower limbs and a diagnosis of an ischemic cerebrovascular accident (stroke).
Despite this, Mithun is fully aware, well-oriented, and is currently undergoing a thorough assessment by a team of medical professionals, including neuro-physicians, cardiologists, and gastroenterologists.

Mithun Chakraborty, committed to the Indian film industry since 1976, has earned numerous accolades, including the respected National Award. His memorable roles in iconic films like Disco Dancer, Jung, Prem Pratigyaa, Pyar Jhukta Nahin, and Mard have left a permanent mark on cinema.
Recently awarded the Padma Bhushan Award for 2024, Mithun shared his joy and gratitude through his son Namashi’s social media. Saying his feelings on the honor, Mithun said, “I am very happy, filled with joy; the feeling of receiving such an honor, having achieved the whole thing, is something I cannot express.”
In July 2023, Mithun suffered a private loss when his mother, Santirani Chakraborty, passed away in Mumbai due to old issues. In addition to the family’s contests, Mithun’s father, Basantokumar Chakraborty, also passed away in April 2020 at the age of 95 due to kidney failure.
Despite these challenges, Mithun Chakraborty remains a strong figure in the Indian film community. His contributions to the industry and the expression of love and respect from fans worldwide stand as a testament to his continuing legacy.
